WHAT IS Fat Freeze?

Fat freezing, is a nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that uses cold temperature to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body. The procedure is designed to reduce localized fat deposits or bulges that do not respond to diet and exercise.

How are fat cells destroyed?

During the elimination process, the frozen fat cells are broken down into small particles and transported through the lymphatic vessels to the liver. Once in the liver, the fat cells are metabolised and eliminated from the body as waste.

  • CAN YOU TREAT ALL HAIR AND SKIN TYPES?
Yes! Our MeDioStar can safely treat all skin types, even newly tanned skin. While the laser targets all hair types, different colors will have a varied reaction. Very dark hair to dark blonde will respond well to treatment, whereas white and grey hairs may be less responsive. Generally, a higher contrast of melanin between skin type and hair color delivers better results.
  • CAN YOU TREAT ALL BODY AREAS?
Yes, our MeDioStar laser safely treats all body areas, even private areas. The most popular treatment areas are the legs, arms, back, underarms, chest, upper lip, and bikini.
  • IS THE LASER SAFE?
Yes! Our Astanza MeDioStar laser is FDA-cleared to treat all skin types, even newly tanned skin, for laser hair removal and vascular lesion removal. Using TAPER technology, our laser evenly distributes energy over the entire handpiece spot, preventing hot areas and overtreatment of the skin while reducing the risk of unwanted side effects.
  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
An average of six to ten treatments are needed for long-lasting hair reduction. WHY MULTIPLE SESSIONS? Every client needs multiple treatments to target each hair during its anagen phase or active growing stage. During a hair removal session, all the hairs in an area are treated without knowing which growth phase they’re in. Only the anagen phase hairs respond to treatment, so multiple sessions are necessary to target the untreated anagen hairs later on.
  • ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR DOWNTIME?
Laser hair removal is a very safe procedure with little to no side effects and no downtime. Our MeDioStar’s light energy safely penetrates through the skin without damaging any surrounding skin tissue. Common side effects include temporary redness, itchiness, and skin swelling, which all subside within a few hours following treatment. Aloe vera is used to soothe the skin post-treatment.
  • DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?
DermaStar Skin & Laser delivers comfortable laser hair removal treatments thanks to our advanced diode laser technology. Each of our hand pieces is equipped with 360º contact skin cooling to alleviate the skin immediately before each treatment pulse and protects the skin from unwanted thermal damage.
  • How Long Does A Session Last?
Depending on the number of treatment handles applied, your treatment should normally take between 1.5 – 2 hours.
  • Is Fat Permanently Reduced
Fat cells targeted in the desired treatment area are naturally metabolized out of the body for fat reduction which can be maintained with healthy eating and regular exercise.
  • How much localized fat can one expect to lose from fat freeze and when will I start to notice results?
Studies have shown an average fat reduction of between 15 and 22 percent at around 4 months after initial treatment. However, you may begin to notice changes as early as 3 weeks after treatment. Dramatic improvement is noticed after about 2 months.
  • Is Fat Freezing Suitable For Everyone?
Fat Freezing is suitable for those who have stubborn areas of fat. It is not suitable for those who have tanned or sunbathed within the past 5 days, who are or may be pregnant, those who are breastfeeding or those with: Large amounts of fat to lose Liver problems or renal insufficiency Raynauds disease Hives due to intensive exposure to cold Crioglobulinemia Hipoproteinemia Severe diabetes Intolerance to Cryotherapy Fever Carcinoma Active infection Dermatitis, eczema, pimples Varicose veins, flebiti, thrombophlebitis Cancer, AIDS, hepatitis Injuries, scarring or streaking in the area for treatment
